Established in Khordad 1364 (May 1985), Azad University INTIAU Shahr-e-Rey Branch commenced its operations with 62 students in four fields: theology, agriculture, electronics, and mechanics.
This academic institution offers a diverse range of 350 study programs at doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s levels. They are in disciplines including electrical and computer engineering, technical and engineering, arts and architecture, humanities, and basic sciences. Catering to over 24,000 enrolled students.

Since its inception alongside the establishment of Azad University Shahr-e-Rey Branch in Khordad 1364 (May 1985). At present, alongside the Faculty of Technical and Engineering, the Electrical Engineering Faculty occupies approximately 10,850 square meters of educational space. With the assistance of 39 experienced faculty members and dedicated staff, it caters to over 3,000 students across 25 majors, including 4 specializations and 6 academic levels. The number of graduates from the Electrical Engineering Faculty (until the end of Azar 1396) exceeds 9,953 individuals.
Established officially in 1378 (1999), the Faculty of Technical Engineering and Basic Sciences began its independent operations. Currently, the faculty offers programs at the non-continuous bachelor’s, continuous bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. Moreover, it comprises nine educational groups, including Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Surveying, Agricultural Engineering and Food Industries, Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, Physics, Chemistry and Chemical Industries, and Biological Sciences and Technologies.
With a total of 115 faculty members, the faculty is well-equipped with six workshops and 22 specialized laboratories.
